A SELF GLASS LEARNING: METODE PEMBELAJARAN INOVATIF DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN BERBICARA BAHASA INGGRIS
Self-Glass Learning Method, Enhancing English Speaking Skil
Abstrak
This research discusses the SGL Learning Method, Self-Glass Learning to improve English
speaking skills. The key word for understanding SGL is using the perception or assessment
that other people or audiences are able to form a self-image which is used as a dose to increase
abilities. SGL consists of 4 (four) stages: SGL Preparation, First Stage, Second Stage, Third
Stage. Stages 2, 3, and 4 are called SGL Action. Then it involves 4 (four) roles: Performer,
Guide, Peers, and Audience. The importance of SGL is because the most common use of
English language learning is conversation. The phenomenon that occurs is that there are many
people who are learning English feeling reluctant and not confident about having conversations
in public. The problem formulation is: How does the SGL learning method improve English
conversation skills? The research method used is qualitative, namely exploring phenomena,
interpreting data qualitatively through descriptions presented narratively. Results and
discussion show that SGL is able to solve problems in improving English speaking skills. Apart
from that, it was also found that abilities in other fields were increased by implementing SGL,
namely being able to build a performer's image. This research is useful as a method of
improving English speaking skills and other performance-based learning, useful for developing
knowledge for all performance-based learning materials.
